You are my dream maker On the nights I run away from sleep The moon is hidden in the night sky You are the cloth that wraps me, comforts me
For dreams are what we wish for in reality A lie in a real world we do not believe Who will be my dream maker Who will open the gate for my escape
You are my dream maker On the nights I am chased by sleep The moon is alone in the night sky You are the drug that lulls me, comforts me
I am sinking into a reality that is a lie I am chasing a world that cannot be true Who will be my dream maker Who will create the world of sanctuary
The pools of light that shine the way Stop living in the dark The tears of shadow that line your face Stop hiding in the night
You are my dream maker When black wings of slumber enfold me A fallen flower by the dusty roadside A lonely dream where there is no other You are my dream maker

This was largely inspired by a japanese song by the name of Dream.Maker, which was one of the songs in the third Prince of Tennis Musical. Although they have the same name, I'm often inspired by singular words from other songs, especially japanese ones, and I come up with different lyrics off the one word or phrase. I enjoy creating lyrics. There is a methodical sense to it, and planning, that is lacking from my poetry creation. Poems are created by typing raw emotion as it flows, but for me, lyrics involve thought and planning to create a structured piece... Dreams and sleeping are very rich ideas that can spin off to a lot of imagery and personification, which is why they feature so much in my writing...
