real name : Soh Lili
online handles : chiiyo / CyberHippy / Bliss Sy'lik
gender : Decidedly female.
birthdate : 13 November 1985
height and weight : 165cm and 49kg

appearance : When she was a little kid, people used to think she was of eurasian blood, most likely due to her large black eyes with the curly lashes surrounding them. Now nearing adulthood, her eyes are still large, her lashes still long and curly, but there are more comments of her looking like a japanese than an eurasian, despite the fact that she is of pure chinese origin. Her face is rounded, with her jet black hair framing her features : a small mouth, a straight nose, cheeks with some baby (and some adult) fat left, and a pair of large expressive eyes, which are her favourite features. Of middling height for girls her age, she is underweight, and has a heart condition that prevents her from strenuous activities, but her physique is good, with strong legs and arms, and a toned stomach from years of doing sit-ups, although due to lack of exercise she finds her waistline gradually expanding. Her hands and feet are very small, and she regularly has problems finding rings, bracelets and shoes her size.

Her sense of fashion is unique at best, peculiar at worst. Her wardrobe is an amalgamation of her own clothes, which are usually slightly childish in mood, with frills and ribbons and pastel colours, her elder sister's hand-me-downs, which range from pretty skirts, various tops, jeans, and even the occasional cocktail dress that she's outgrown, and her mother's hand-me-downs, which are usually long-sleeved classy tops and plain pants. This means that her clothing is always varied, and she usually takes the opportunity to mix and match clothes in different styles to come up with combinations that have always earned her the comment of being very "japanese" in feel, though she was actually aiming for her own look. Pair it off with her trademark brown hiking boots, her brown Swatch watch, a silver charm bracelet, her bright pink Tatonka backpack, a fresh face and simple hairstyle, and she's ready to go.

history : Born in the island-state-country Singapore, she grew up at first, under the shadow of her high-flier elder sister, quiet and reserved, a thin underweight girl who was polite to her elders and didn't have many friends. She discovered dancing, ballet at first, then the chinese dance club in her school, and when she took the exams and got into a class for the gifted and moved to another school, she continued to dance her ballet and chinese dance all the way until she was 12. By this time, after three years surrounded by noisy talented sociable confident people, she began her secondary school life as an extremely friendly and independent girl, who at one point probably knew more than half her school's population by face and name. Her experience with the gifted class continued, and this would shape and mould her character into one who was confident and sure of herself and what she wanted, but also set herself up for disappointment.

Her third year in secondary school was an epoch in her life. She could not reach the goals that her parents had set for her, and driven to despair, with no real friend to turn to, she attempted suicide, and spent the most torturous night in a hospital, vomiting up the sleeping pills until there was nothing left in her stomach, and yet, still vomiting. A turning-point of her life, she went on to gain true friends, a supporting boyfriend, and the will to live her life to the best, and never let herself sink into depression that low again. Her cheerful demeanour resurfaced, and together with determination she had not known before, she managed to buck up and get grades good enough to enter the junior college of her choice. That was before life dealt her another bad card, and her O'level grades were not high enough to keep her in the school, so she transferred to another school, and spent many nights crying and many days in a daze, feeling that she was not good enough for her old school. But even that had to pass, and with the help of many friends, she managed to get herself out of depression again and started to live a new life in her new school.

And now, she is starting term in a local university, shedding much of her past to face the new school life in front of her...

personality : The main effect of being in a gifted class for around seven years is the onset of extreme confidence. Although she does not have a blooming ego, her quiet confidence in herself and what she does shines through when she walks, talks, and even when she's just bumming in the bus or on the street. Beyond that, her affinity with speech and words in general makes her pleasant to talk to, and she adapts very well to any kind of person, turning into a quiet attentive listener when she meets the very talkative, or a smooth conversationalist to get the group talking and bonding together, and sometimes, if you're good enough, a well-spirited and adamant debater when she gets worked up about something. Her outgoing personality is easy to spot; her ready smiles and cheerful tone would put most at ease, whilst her rather eccentric sense of humour never lets up a chance to put down herself for the sake of laughter. But beneath that lies a rather serious and pensive girl, which shows through her writing and her art, and that part of her old personality never leaves her, giving her a strange sense of balance between her outer cheer and her inner gloom.

She is a loyal friend, and embraces her old fashioned "asian values", that of filial piety, respect for the elders, courtesy, politeness, kindness, charity, and a few of her own, tolerance, forgiveness and tact. She is demanding on herself when it comes to certain issues, and has very high moral standards, which don't apply to other people, although she would not look very kindly upon those who have failed her moral tests. When driven to anger or hate, which is rare as she prefers to be more passive, she can be quite formidable, her cold attitude and her sharp poisoned tongue making a rare appearance. But more likely than not only irritation would occur, and her irritation is no more reflected by a slight change in the tone of her voice and an imperceptible frown. She is a girl of extremes, shy with new people, but exhibitionistic to the point of cosplaying; bouncy and cheery outside, serene and pensive inside, but is able to live securely in the middle ground, so much so that many do not and never do see her for what she really is, for she only reveals one facet of her personality to one person at one time.

likes : Sweet edibles, pink and purple and blue, dresses and skirts, cute and soft toys, manga and anime, kimonos, cosplay, stories and poems, japanese language, L'Arc~en~Ciel, her bass guitar called Blood, her Apple Powerbook called Kana-chan, her Nikon FM2 manual SLR camera called Akira-kun, her tennis racquet called Prince, and sleeping.
dislikes : People who pass judgement on something without first giving it a chance, hypocrites, cigarettes and drugs, Panadol, coffee, insults and flames, people who pick on her.
wants : An iPod, a Nikon manual 50mm f1.4 lens, software for Kana-chan, a thumbdrive, a Nikon Coolpix 3700, cooking books.
